About Me

What is Maroon Riddimz about?

Hey everyone - my friends call me Maroon, and I am mainly an audio engineer and music producer which you probably already know! I'm all about becoming the BEST producer/engineer I can be, and helping others along the way. Being a "Maroon", I definitely have taken the rebellious entrepreneur route in my life and am constantly in pursuit of my highest purpose in life.

Music

I started singing and producing beats in FL Studio when I was 15, starting with hip hop and reggae/dancehall beats. My curiosity and love for music moved me to expand to R&b and even electronic music. However, it wasn't long until it was clear Reggae was my sound. Shortly after I became interested in how to step up my quality when recording friends, and that's when I dove deep into engineering. I've been recording/mixing full time for more than 7 years now based out of South Florida. While I love most genres of music, those who work with me would say I specialize in Reggae/dancehall, Hiphop and Latin Urban. Over the yers I've worked with many large industry artists, as well as up and comers.

My Mission

After graduating from Miami International University of Art and Design with a Bachelor's in Audio Production, I quit my day job and jumped out on my journey to make a living in the music space. This was HARD at first. I had NO mentors, no job leads, no internships, no help. I worked my way up from the bottom low class studio to the "A room". One of my missions is to help others that want to learn how to record/engineer, avoid the horror stories of interning and audio school as the only option to learning. That's why I released my ultimate recording course, to give people something I wish that I had.

My Mission

My favorite music genre of all time is reggae. I have a Jamaican mother and father and was always surrounded by it. Growing up in Broward County Florida, I started my journey with rap music but fell in love with Reggae. It moves something within me that I can't explain. The history, the organic feel, the live music, the culture, the message! During the era of downloaded music I discovered SO many artists and songs old and new that completely shaped my whole vibe today. However it's sad to say that I can't find consistent reggae music that I love, nor do I believe the genre has the strength and impact that it deserves yet. I believe my other mission in life to add to the genre and culture of reggae music however I can. I will teach it, sing it, and play it proudly.
